Info about Gastone Rinaldi
Italian designer Gastone Rinaldi (1920-2006) was a pivotal figure in mid-century furniture design. He and his brother took over their father’s company, RIMA, in 1948, transforming it into a leading postwar brand. Rinaldi’s notable creations include the award-winning DU30 Chair and the avant-garde Saturno Sofa, now part of MoMA's collection. After leaving RIMA in 1974, he founded Thema, producing iconic designs like the Arianna Armchair. Rinaldi also collaborated with renowned designers such as Gio Ponti and Ettore Sottsass. His limited-edition pieces remain highly sought after by collectors today.
